Double Shortlisting at the ukactive Awards

Kore has been named a finalist in two categories at the prestigious ukactive Awards 2026, recognising the organisation's commitment to supporting healthier communities and creating a positive workplace culture.

Kore, which operates leisure facilities on behalf of Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, has been shortlisted for:

Marketing Campaign Award for its impactful "Wellbeing Starts at the Centre" campaign

Workplace Culture & Initiative Award, recognising organisations that have delivered initiatives to improve employee wellbeing and activity levels

The announcement follows a record-breaking year for the ukactive Awards, with 190 entries submitted across 14 categories from organisations spanning the public, private and independent sectors.

The awards, celebrate the people, organisations and initiatives driving positive change across the UK's physical activity sector.

Winners will be announced at the ukactive Awards ceremony on Thursday 8 October 2026 at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Birmingham, where industry leaders from across the UK will come together to celebrate excellence and innovation.

The recognition for "Wellbeing Starts at the Centre" reflects Kore's commitment to showcasing the vital role leisure centres play in supporting physical, mental and social wellbeing across Sandwell's communities.

Meanwhile, the Workplace Culture & Initiative Award shortlist acknowledges the organisation's focus on creating an engaged, supported and healthy workforce.

Kore operates Sandwell Aquatics Centre, Portway Lifestyle Centre, Wednesbury Leisure Centre, Tipton Sports Academy and Tipton Leisure Centre, providing affordable and accessible opportunities for residents to be active, improve their wellbeing and connect with their local community.

The organisation now looks forward to joining fellow finalists in Birmingham in October as the winners are announced.
