So what is Reformer Pilates?
What is Reformer Pilates and why is everyone talking
about it
Reformer Pilates is one of the fastest-growing fitness
trends and soon the community will be able to experience it first-hand, with
the launch of the new PILAT3S studio at Wednesbury Leisure Centre, coming soon.
But what exactly is Reformer Pilates, and what should you
expect if you are thinking of giving it a go?
So, what is Reformer Pilates?
Reformer Pilates is a full-body workout performed on a
specially designed piece of equipment called a Reformer. Using springs, straps
and a moving carriage, the Reformer adds resistance and support to traditional
Pilates movements, helping you build strength, improve flexibility and enhance
posture, all while being low-impact and joint-friendly.
It is suitable for all abilities, whether you are completely
new to Pilates, returning to exercise or looking to challenge your training
with something different. Every movement can be adjusted to match your level,
making it both accessible and effective.
Introducing PILAT3S at Kore
The new PILAT3S studio at Wednesbury Leisure Centre brings a
modern, immersive take on Reformer Pilates, designed to help you move better,
feel stronger and stay consistent.
Each class combines dynamic, full-body routines with studio
technology, curated playlists and guided screen cues, creating an experience
that is motivating, focused and easy to follow. While the environment feels
fresh and energising, the six core principles of Pilates remain at the heart of
every session.
What to expect in a PILAT3S class
Classes are structured in timed blocks, helping you move
with flow and precision while challenging your strength, stability and control.
Alongside the Reformer, you may use classic Pilates props like balls, as well
as additions such as dumbbells, to elevate the workout and target different
muscle groups.
PILAT3S offers three distinct class types, so you can choose
what suits your body and your goals on the day.
Align focuses on form, control and core stability, helping
you lengthen and mobilise your body through open rotations and controlled
movements.
Tone is all about building endurance and strength, featuring
dynamic flow, pulse sequences and burnouts designed to sculpt and challenge.
Power brings higher energy and compound movements, combining
the Reformer with dumbbells to build strength and raise intensity.
What you need to know before your first class
If it is your first visit, we recommend arriving around 15
minutes early. This gives our team time to welcome you, show you around and
help you get familiar with the Reformer so you feel confident before class
begins.
The studio is shoe-free, so please leave your shoes in the
designated area or your locker. Grip socks are not essential, but they are
strongly recommended for comfort and stability, especially as things warm up.
If you forget them, you will be able to purchase a pair at reception.
After class, we ask that you quickly wipe down your Reformer
using the cleaning stations provided, helping keep the studio fresh for
everyone.
Reformer Pilates for everybody
Reformer Pilates is not about perfection; it is about
progress. Whether your goal is to improve mobility, build strength, support
recovery or simply try something new, PILAT3S at Kore is designed to meet you
where you are and help you move forward with confidence.
The new PILAT3S studio at Wednesbury Leisure Centre is
coming soon and promises to bring a premium, welcoming Reformer Pilates
experience to the local community.
